<p>did you guys even read his explanation on what HEOP is? HEOP is basically geared towards minority students who don’t meet the typical standards of entering freshmen of the institution. Obviously whether someone is URM or not, those SAT scores are much too low to even be considered at Columbia, but HEOP is a different story since it admits students who cannot gain admission to Columbia but have the POTENTIAL to succeed. HEOP has different guidelines and lower the standards to admit disadvantaged students (academically and economically). I’m applying to Hamiltonm College via HEOP in which the SAT scores have to be a minimum 1600 (CR+M+W), 85 GPA, and be in top 10% of class. I meet the credentials for HEOP at Hamilton but not Hamilton’s regular admissions. </p>
