Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this.

Your grades are showing an upward trend, so that’s a good sign.
Your SATs are not so hot, but I think you have a shot at most of the schools you’ve mentioned.

BUT… don’t waste your ED on High Point. Admission there is essentially non-competitive. (they were one of the very few schools this year that were advertising that they had “space available” after May 1st.) Short of getting arrested, you will get in there anyway so you should use your ED on a reach school for you (like perhaps BU or American).

Good luck!

It would appear that UMD, American, & BU are real long shots at this point. High Point seems most realistic.

Highpoint University- match
St. Mary’s- not sure
UMD- seeing as you live in state, and you seem as if you’ve had the strongest schedule possible, if you get your SAT’s up (maybe 1700/1800’s) you should get accepted with a strong personal statement. I know quite a few MD kids who have had stats similar to yours with slightly higher SAT’s and made it in.
Boston U- reach
Coastal Carolina- match
Roanoke- not sure (I’ve heard iffy things about their admission but out of state would help in this case I think/)
American- reach

Basically what others have said, don’t waste your ED on High Point, you’ll get in. If you retake your SAT that will help a ton too! UMD isn’t as out of reach as you might think. Also look at Old Dominion in Virginia as well as East Carolina. They seem similar to the schools on your list and I think you have a pretty good shot at acceptance there too!

Thanks… good advice! I just know HPU’s a reality while others probably aren’t thats why I want to make sure i get in . Thanks a lot!

How about loyola university in maryland?
