I’m a junior at a very competitive prep school, nationally known.
Our HS dropped AP and class rank long ago.
My stats:
GPA: 3.6 uw and trending upward (9th GR was weakest)
ACT: 34
SAT2 Math 750
SAT2 Spanish 740
I’m interested in the business school track but could also start with Economics in a liberal arts school.
I’ve spent a great deal of time and effort in real business settings, learning from mentors.
XC’s

Thank you!
Your ECs and test scores are good, maybe retake the SAT Math 2 (800 is not too difficult to achieve in this particular subject test, the curve is very friendly). Your GPA is a little questionable, but you have a decent chance of getting into some of these schools. Showing an upward trend is important; make sure you take the most rigorous courses at your school and do well in them. Good luck!
Thank you for the advice!
Your GPA might hurt your chances quite a fair amount at least with USC from what I’ve seen. However, if your gpa is 3.6 UW counting 9th which was your worst year, then you probably have a very good shot at getting into UCLA (as 9th grade isn’t that important to UC’s). I would calculate your weighted and unweighted with http://www.csumentor.com/planning/high_school/gpa_calculator.asp CSU’s and UC’s calculate with the same rules (max of 8 honors bumps etc.)
UCLA will be tough with that GPA.
Thank you for the advice and the CSU calculator!
Seems like between the comments from last two posters, I’m on the edge with UCLA and even a higher reach for USC. If anyone has feedback on the other schools I listed, that would be great!
I know it’s not necessarily how things work in admissions, but I am half hoping that
the rigor of my school’s curriculum (rigorous!!) will push me over the edge in some cases.
