<p>I am a Hispanic male. I am a senior this year and would like to know if my chances are any good for Suny Albany or Suny Stony Brook
90 average
1550/2400 SAT
1150/1600 SAT
Cr:420
Math:730
Writing:400
I am taking Oct and Nov SATs im studying really hard so I should get at least 500 in both reading and writing.
Act:22 retaking should get a lot higher because that was my first test and didn't study.
I have taken AP Bio and I'm taking AP Chem and AP Calc BC.
I have an upward trend on grades which may help. I hope that because I'm Hispanic it helps a little on my reading and writing. I also have been in band. Ran in varsity cross country and varsity rowing. I went to stony brook for SARAS program (science and research awareness series) in summer 2011 tutored and i am an assistant manager with a lot of hours put into it. PLEASE chance me no one ever does.</p>

<p>Hi michaellax28, you have to raise your SAT score (1700+)to have a good chance at the schools you mentioned, i am not very familiar with 100 scale of GPA but 90 looks okay, i guess. I think that the rest is fine, that SARAS program you assited to is definitely going to help you. Good luck.

<p>Your course load and GPA look pretty good, but you standardized testing scores need improvement. I would focus on raising those as much as you can and explain your situation if you can through an essay. You also have a decent resume in terms of ECs.</p>

<p>I think you have a good chance at UAlbany with these scores but not so much for stony brook.
If you get your score to at least a 1700 you have a better chance at stony brook and you will def. get into UAlbany.</p>

<p>thanks and I’m pretty confident i will get at least 500 in CR and Writing so i will have at least a 1230/1600 and 1730/2400
My first test i didn’t study much but i have been studying everyday now i might even get 800 on math if I’m lucky enough</p>
