<p>hi everyone. emory's been one of my top two choices for a really long time now. in fact, the only reason I did RD there was because I had done ED at the other top choice. well, I just got rejected from the ED, so now I really want to focus on my chances at Emory. thanks in advance for the input.</p>
<p>Father: born in nj (not very exotic; I know)
Mother: born in paris, france. immigrated to america to have me (so I'm an american-born French male.)</p>
<p>Currently:
GPA= 97/100 weighted 93/100 unweighted (don't really know what that translates to out of 4)
Ranking= school doesn't rank, but I'd say I'm in the top 10% of my grade
Senior year schedule= French 12 Honors (highest level offered), AP Calculus AB, AP Economics, Ap US Gov and Politics, AP World Lit, Honors Physics, Senior Band
Prior schedules= the toughest offered classes for each subject </p>
<p>Testing:
SAT I= CR: 670 M:670 W:700
SAT II= US History: 660 Biology E:590 Math I: 630 (not very good SAT IIs...)</p>
<p>Essays:
Common App essay was pretty good/unique IMO (wrote about my french upbringing)
Emory supp essay was decent; wouldn't hurt but wouldn't really help tremendously</p>

<p>ECs/community service/awards/jobs:
-varsity tennis since 9th grade
-scholar/athlete in 10th grade (only 1 boy and 1 girl per season get the award)
-National Honor Society, Tri-M Honor Society, French Honor Society, English Honor Society (historian for 2 years)
-marching band 9th-12th grade (12th grade I was section leader)
-wind ensemble 10th-12th (1st chair 11th grade)
-jazz band 10th-12th (1st chair all 3 years)
-french national exam (placed 1st in county, and in 10 top every years since 7th grade)
-volunteered at local religious school
-tutored middle school kids in math
-intern at a major business for 2 years. worked in the finance department (this was what I wrote about in my common app thing about one EC) </p>
<p>On the common app I showed interest in Economics.
