please chance me

hi everyone. emory's been one of my top two choices for a really long time now. in fact, the only reason I did RD there was because I had done ED at the other top choice. well, I just got rejected from the ED, so now I really want to focus on my chances at Emory. thanks in advance for the input.

Father: born in nj (not very exotic; I know)
Mother: born in paris, france. immigrated to america to have me (so I'm an american-born French male.)

Currently:
GPA= 97/100 weighted 93/100 unweighted (don't really know what that translates to out of 4)
Ranking= school doesn't rank, but I'd say I'm in the top 10% of my grade
Senior year schedule= French 12 Honors (highest level offered), AP Calculus AB, AP Economics, Ap US Gov and Politics, AP World Lit, Honors Physics, Senior Band
Prior schedules= the toughest offered classes for each subject

Testing:
SAT I= CR: 670 M:670 W:700
SAT II= US History: 660 Biology E:590 Math I: 630 (not very good SAT IIs...)

Essays:
Common App essay was pretty good/unique IMO (wrote about my french upbringing)
Emory supp essay was decent; wouldn't hurt but wouldn't really help tremendously

Contacts with Emory:
-visited campus
-know a student
-Emory website
-letter from Office of Admission
-guidance counselor

ECs/community service/awards/jobs:
-varsity tennis since 9th grade
-scholar/athlete in 10th grade (only 1 boy and 1 girl per season get the award)
-National Honor Society, Tri-M Honor Society, French Honor Society, English Honor Society (historian for 2 years)
-marching band 9th-12th grade (12th grade I was section leader)
-wind ensemble 10th-12th (1st chair 11th grade)
-jazz band 10th-12th (1st chair all 3 years)
-french national exam (placed 1st in county, and in 10 top every years since 7th grade)
-volunteered at local religious school
-tutored middle school kids in math
-intern at a major business for 2 years. worked in the finance department (this was what I wrote about in my common app thing about one EC)

On the common app I showed interest in Economics.
thank again

SAT's.........can u give them again?

sure.
1340/2040

no!! i didn't mean give them again to me > :)

i meant can u retake them to improve them?

Lolololololol

haha whoops! nah, I can't retake them since I already sent in my application. =/
how much do you think that that will affect my chances?

also, right now, like I said earlier, I'm applying RD, but tomorrow I'm thinking of calling the school and seeing if I can switch to EDII. does anyone know if that is possible?

If you're not accepted, it would most likely be because of the SAT's.

thanks. any other input would be appreciated.

bump. anyone else please?

Take the SATs again in January.. you can still send them in.

well, now I'm EDII so I can't retake the SATs.

also, bump. anyone else?

haha I really couldn't say, except what I've gleaned from stats sites, since I'm applying this year myself. I wouldn't consider you a definite...but I'd say you have a fair shot. at this point, it seems that it's up in the air now, depending on how many more 1300ish SAT scores they want to take and how much of an impact your app makes on the committee.

that being said, good luck! :)
