Please Chance me!

I wanna transfer to a TOP university after my sophomore year.

My current selection list includes:
Yale
Stanford
MIT
Columbia
Dartmouth
Penn

current school: TOP 10 LAC
GPA: 3.9 ~ 3.95
course selection: many junior courses and some senior courses, deeper than broader; 2 humanities courses and 2 arts courses.
Recommendation: May be good, but may not be outstanding
SAT I: 650CR + 800M + 570WR
SAT II: 800M2 + 800PHYS + 800CHEM
HS GPA: near 4
Reason to transfer: I wanna take some graduate level courses
EC: just so-so
Intern: one in a local bank and one in a big IT company

FC: 20k ~ 25k; I need FA!!!!

Int'l student

Thanks!!!!!!!!

where are you from? I assume that you are from china

As stated in the Transfer 101 thread, your college GPA has the most weight, followed by both your statements and recommendations. Frankly, your SAT Verbal and Writing scores tell me and presumably will tell AdComs that your grasp of English is weak. That your recommendations may not be stellar is not good; you need stellar recommendations and I implore you to consult the threads regarding obtaining recommendations so that you can stack the deck in your favor.

QED

Yale - High Reach
Stanford - High Reach
MIT - High Reach
Columbia - High Reach
Dartmouth - High Reach
Penn - Reach

My judgments are largely determined by the fact that all but Penn have transfer admissions rates below 10%. (Even Penn's 14% is from a highly qualified transfer applicant pool.) You are a competitive candidate to be sure, but without solid recommendations and brilliant statements, your chances are diminished further.

Penn is mean. O, I recalled that. Penn does NOT give FA to int'l transfer...

Thank you, wayward_trojan.

Yup, my English is not so good, though I have improved a lot since I was matriculated.

Shall I retake the SAT? What about GRE?

TO Ronaldo:

Thank you for your information. BTW, I assume you are a Chinese.

Only retake if you will improve your writing and verbal scores by at least 50, if not 100 points.

davidchristoph.. you are interesting....u have not confirm my assumption yet. I am from China. What about you?

so many chinese
