Please chance me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

intelliginse: I see you are a new member, welcome  but you should create your own chance thread, instead of posting in someone else’s ;-)

goharik: I don’t think it’s possible to be a permanent resident and go to school ‘abroad’ –> then you couldn’t live in the us enough to gain permanent resident status. I could be wrong? ;-)

kitkatz: it is beautiful! have you visited? ;-)

Holly crap intelliginse…that’s pretty intense there  You should have a good chance of getting in anywhere with that if you have good letters of rec and essay!

If by any means you can move to the US and get a green card before you apply for college then do it. If not, I’m afraid you will just have to apply as an international student. Let me tell you, the process of obtaining one is rather time consuming. It took my family 3 years to get ours.

Hi,
Will my being a member of the Democratic Party anyhow set me apart; can it be used as a hook? And, what do you think what books are good for SAT Subject test practice? I studied for Toefl with Kaplan books and I really liked it, I`d like to know your opinion whether Kaplan is really good for Subject tests, For example, I did not like Princeton Review for SAT Reasoning, but is that good for the Subject tests?

Hello,
I am now in the USA on a work visa. i am working as a cook`s helper, and I am afraid that colleges will not like this… Should I mention this on my application,?What do you think?

Colleges like any type of work experience, so it soes not matter what you do(unless it is illegal obviously). It shows initiative, independence, and work ethic. don’t worry about where you work, because I’ve worked in a restaurant before…don’t worry about it!!! :)

Thanks a lot. Do you remember you asked me to chance you back, but I have not done it so far. i was about to start on my way to the USA, I have been travelling for several days, which was why i could not. I read your profile, and I do sincerely believe that if you do well on the SATs and write an inspiring essay, I do noit see why you will not be good enough for the top Ivies.
Good luck. So,are you applying to Pronceton? If you do, hope to see you there!!!

Sorry, i forgot to mention that I am working quite legally here, And, what do you think since it is such a good thing should I talk about it in my essay? For example how I came here all alone, how the American culture influenced me, etc?
