U New Haven (in state safety)
Carnegie Mellon
Bucknell
Villanova
Lafayette
Lehigh
Johns Hopkins
Princeton… haha

I would say good chance. Don’t think Princeton is “haha.” Sure, it’s academically competitive, but I’ve seem them accept kids with baseline 2000 SATs. Good luck.

Look at Cornell more closely to see if you like it. IF YOU LOVE IT, go for ED.

Looks good! If you’re confident about your essay, even better chances. I think the boy scout thing stands out.

Hey, thanks for the input. I do love Cornell, but I don’t know if I’d be able to afford what they offer me (younger bro and sis just adopted from Kazakhstan). Obviously it’s not completely binding in that they don’t force you to go if you really can’t pay for it, but if it was a difference of 20k per year between Cornell and another of my top choices I don’t know what I’d do.

Cornell and Princeton are pretty much polar opposites! You are at or above the median for these schools, so you’re a good candidate, you just need to prove yourself to the adcoms. Write amazing essays, that may very well sway them!

Don’t think Cornell ED for engineering would happen with your current scores. I’d focus on raising them and try RD if you don’t in Sept. Or try the ACT.
