I am an international(armenian) applying to CalTech, Stanford and maybe MIT and/or UCLA. I will also apply for financial aid. My intended area of study is Computer Science.

SAT I: will take in December, hope to get ~2000(800 for math section)
SAT II Subjects: have taken math IIC and physics in November, will most likely get 780-800 for both.

GPA: 9.9/10.0
School/class Rank: 1
Recs: excellent
Essays: pretty good IMO(demonstrating interest in math/science)

I have a Bronze medal from International Olympiad in Informatics(IOI) 2009, placed 2nd at national olympiad, also participated in national olympiads in various subjects, especially in math/science. Have graduated from high school with a Gold Medal(there were 31 students who graduated with Gold Medal overall in the country).

I think you have a great shot at each one of those schools. They olympiad has a HUGE wow factor and is really gonna help you at MIT, CalTech, and Standord. Dartmouth is really different from the others.

Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Williams, Yale, and Amherst College are the only schools who are need-blind to internationals if that’s any help? (: I think it’ll be a lot easier to hazard a guess when you have your SAT score. Do you have any other ECs besides Olympiad stuff too (though that is impressive, I agree with phlipper101. :)) or were you putting a lot of hours into that? I’m not familiary with Olympiad stuff and the time it takes up, sorry. xD

Doesn’t Stanford offer need-blind admissions to internationals too?
Actually olympiad stuff takes really much time and effort. I’ve also taken part in various intellectual games, led school’s team to the 2nd place in the city, but schools here don’t have any clubs, sports curricula or smth like that. I am going to accent on my essays and demostrate my personal characteristics and interest in math/science. Hope that’ll help.

I dont think Stanford is need-blind, but it would be great! Unfortunately there are only 7 schools with need-blind admssion policy for intl students.

Sorry, we don’t have Olympiads here so I don’t really know how they work and the dedication required but it’ll show on your app plus colleges will actually know unlike me. And Cermi’s right, it’s not need blind. You have to get a SSN too to apply for aid at Stanford. Their financial aid section on their website is more helpful than most though, I think. (:

You got some pretty killer awards and a great rank, but your SAT is a bit low, though it shouldn’t be that much of a drag. I’d say all of those are low reaches. You might also want to look at CM, GaTech, and maybe UMD.
