Please Chance me...

Hello. I am a white, male, junior in high school. I am from New York. I plan on applying to Villanova, Michigan, Boston College, North Carolina Chap Hl, Georgetown, UCLA, USC, NYU, and Stanford for business.

My GPA is 97/100 (unweighted)

SAT score: 2150 (taking again in October; hoping for 2200+)

EC's: DECA (I won a county competition for "Financial analysis"); Habitat for Humanity; National Honor Society; Junior Statesmen of America; I will be volunteering and active in community service over the summer

My GPA has never been below a 95 for any quarter of my high school career.

Courses taken:

Freshman: Honors for all English, Math AB, Bio, Italian, etc.

Soph: AP European History (98 average in class; unfortunately, only a 3 on test); Honors for all other classes Math B, English 10, Chem, etc.

Junior: AP United States History (97 average in class), AP Art History (100), AP Language and Comp (96), Pre-Calc, Honors Physics, Italian 4A

Future Senior Schedule: AP Literature, AP Gov't, AP Economic, AP Psychology, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology and Health

Rank: it isn't announced until the fall, but my guidance counselor said that I am her "top student" and should easily be top 5% (out of a class of ~550).

I should have good recommendations from teachers/guidance counselor.

I think that is it. Any advice, chances, help, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Overall, your resume looks okay so far… but that 3 on the AP Euro exam really kills it.

And this year, you chose to take Pre-Calc instead of Math 12H right? As far as I know, Math 12H is the tougher course.

You should be okay when applying to those colleges.

DeJax10, Math 12H is only specific for our school (I think). Judging by the BC calc schedule next year, I think precalc is the prerequisite.

Pre-Calc is the most difficult math course offered at my school for a Junior. It is required to take BC Calc senior year. I have taken the most difficult classes that my school allows me to.
And a 3 on my AP exam really kills my whole resume?

Any other opinions/advice?

Colleges, as far as I know, do not treat AP Exam scores as SAT Subject Tests. Admissions will not look at an AP Exam, see your 3, and be turned off by this. However, they will recognize your class rigor in combination with your GPA. Your SATs will then show your natural intelligence. DeJax was a bit too critical about that… The only thing I would label as a weak point is your extra-curricular activities, depending on how much you have done with those groups.

You are a solid contestant for most of those schools. I am not familiar with the UC’s, and Stanford is an Ivy and therefore not easily predicted.

Not at all.

Thank you. I appreciate the comments.
