Can you guys tell me which ones were High reaches, Reaches, low reaches, matches, and safeties.

will chance back.
thanks for the help

I am currently going into senior year, also i forgot to add UIUC and if anyone has any other suggestions for schools, feel free

Numbers and EC’s are on the weak side. I would say that UIUC and U Mich are reaches since they are both top ten in undergraduate engineering schools. Don’t know much about the other schools.

Purdue may be very high match to low reach mainly due to low GPA. UIUC and UMich are reach as your GPA is far below 25th percentile and your SAT target score of 2040 is also at or below the 25th percentile.

@billcsho‌ thanks, any insight on virginia tech, penn state, and the others?

I think if you end up getting SAT Scores around what you predict then your in for virginia tech!

thanks^

I’ll chance back cuz youre asian lol

Virginia tech-Low Match/Match
Purdue-Low Match/Match
Texas A&M-Low Match/Match
Penn State- Match (It’s not as hard to get into as people say)
University of Michigan- High Match
University of Florida- High Match
University of Washington- Match
Boston university- Match

Your GPA is low, but your SAT is at least a bit above the average of most of these schools, so you have a good chance. You should definitely find a safety school to put on your list (For you, I’d suggest Ohio State); plus, you don’t need so many matches on your list since you’ll probably get into half of them anyways. I don’t think any of these are really out of your reach, you have pretty much a 50/50 shot at most of these schools. I’m assuming that you’ll be judge as a US student btw, which you’re not. Idk how colleges here review Canadian applications.

haha thanks man!

Virginia tech-Low Match
Purdue-Safety
Texas A&M-Low Match
Penn State- Reach (GPA not high enough)
University of Michigan- Reach
University of Florida- Reach
University of Washington- Reach/Match (Where?)
Boston university- Match

From personal expirence, I can tell you that the engineering program at Perdue will be more concerned over your relevant classes (science and math) than your english or history scores. So if the reason your GPA is on the low side is because of those kinds of classes, you may be fine there.

Otherwise, I would call UMich a reach. The scores that they have as averages for their engineering program are like a minimum for their incoming class. If you’re on the bored (your Sats are), you’ll have a hard time getting in.

Penn State is a match. You’re above in SAT and in the range for GPA as for overall admissions. I’m not entirely sure about their engineering scores m though.

Unless you live in florida, you’re definiatly getting into UF with your stats. In my area(New York) as long as you have a 27 on your ACT you’re in.
