Please chance

I promised myself I would not resort to posting my credentials in a blog and asking for opinions, but my anticipation is growing and I can’t seem to wait much longer. Here are my stats:

White, Female
Catholic
Very prestigious private school in Florida (#1)

GPA: 3.8 out of 4.0 (Weighted–my school does not do unweighted so I do not know what it would be)
Class Rank: School doesn’t rank.
ACT: 32
Classes: 1 AP Sophomore year, 3 APs Junior year, 6 APs Senior year
Senior year classes: AP Art History, AP Spanish Language V, AP American Government and Politics, AP Physics B, AP English Literature, AP Statistics
Course load: I take a rigorous courseload, including APs and honors. I have only taken a few regular level courses.

EC’s:
Varsity Crew 9, 10, 11, 12: Well-known team, highly competitive at State’s competition… Unfortunately, BC is not recruiting me.
Varsity Basketball 9, 10
Photography Club: Two-year President…took advanced photo class in 10th grade did very well
Psychology Internship at a hospital: I am applying as a Psychology major, got a 5 on the AP.
Community service: volunteer with Autistic children for three years now
Teacher Recs: My psych teacher wrote my first recommendation, haven’t seen it but I’m assuming it explains my passion for psychology. My second rec was written by my english teacher of two years. I’m assuming it’s eloquently written but not jaw-dropping.

Academic Honors:
Beta Club, NHS
National Merit Commended Scholar
National Spanish Honor’s Society
Honor Roll for every semester

BC is my first choice, so please provide whatever input you have. Thanks!

REJECTION REJECTION REJECTION

I think you will be fine.

REJECTION REJECTION REJECTION

Dear crewgirl21 : While we are not sure about the competitive level of your crew team, it is one of the more physically demanding sports at the collegiate level - and perhaps High School also.

Your AP course load with ten courses is just about as loaded as it comes (albeit that Calc BC is preferred to Stats as it more directly translates into most freshman math requirements). Your ACT score of 32 is above the midpoint of the competition. Your commitment to psychology is compelling in your volunteer and coursework.

Although you are just trying to portray your characteristics, be careful about the "prestigious private school" stuff. At BC, the current freshman class motto is "For here, all are one". In other words, once you make it, your background, although important in your personal formation, is really not important. Think about that.

Your academic honors read like many other chance-me applicants. Your photography might play well as a studio art thread in your application.

You should make the regular decision pool provided your essays are on par with your academic credentials. Given that BC is your first choice, best wishes for getting the golden ticket from the early action pool!

^ LOL, I love it that scottj here has the time to write such formal reply during dead week. I'm just procrastinating from real work.
