Hello, I'm only a freshman in high school but, due to my first semester grades, I'm already very worried over my chances of getting into colleges that I'm interested in (NYU, Syracruse, University of Chicago, Northwestern, Princeton, and Columbia).

5 out of the 7 classes I take are honors/weighted courses, and my weighted GPA first semester ended up being 3.9, which I can say I am most definitely not proud of. My class rank was 102 out of 660 kids (eeeek).

However I was very lazy and not motivated last semester where as this semester I feel completely different and I know I need to kick butt. I did calculations to see what my GPA could be around if I really work hard this semester, but at the same time being realistic, and it was 4.4.

I was wondering if I receive around a 4.4 GPA for the rest of my semesters in high school and a high SAT score (2200+), what are my chances of getting into the earlier said colleges? (Apart from academics, I'm in a few clubs, volunteer a lot, and play a sport, so I think I'm ok in the extracurricular department).
I'm also wondering if receiving a not so hot GPA last semester is going to strongly affect me when I apply for colleges, considering it was only my first semester of my freshman year. I'm really scared about that because I really messed up first semester.
