I’m currently a HS senior, I planned on attending Miami Dade College (since it’s near where i live at the moment), obtaining my AA and transferring to UCF. I’m quite nervous as to how hard this will be because i know those who attend Seminole State & Valencia have the best chances of getting into that school. Are my chances lowered if i attend MDC? I also plan on getting to UCF’S nursing program (i’ll complete my pre reqs at MDC) which i’ve also heard is difficult to get into. I would appreciate if anyone here could give me advice or tell me if i have any chance transferring from here to UCF & anything about their nursing program.
UCFs Nursing Program is difficult to access…but that is probably true at all state schools. Six local colleges have a “Direct Connect to UCF,” which means they are automatically accepted to the University after completing their AA. It does NOT give them immediate entrance to the Nursing Program. Students selected will have the highest grades and highest TEAs of the applicant pool.
It is a tough program that leaves little time for socializing and no time for clubs.
MDC has an ASN and BSN program on their own impressive Medical Campus. Why do you want to go all the way up to UCF? So many opportunities you will have staying & training in Miami!
