prompt-compare and contrast the goals and outcomes in china 1911 and Russia 1917

There were many things different and similar about the 1911 Revolution in China with the 1917 Revolution in Russia. The chinese revolted in order to establish a democracy while the Russian Revolution was intended to create a communist nation. Also the people involved with the Chinese Revolution was a nationalist party but the people involved with the Russian Revolution were part of the working class.
In 1911, the Chinese Nationalist party overthrew the Qing Dynasty, which was the last Dynasty of China. The goal of the Nationalists were to create a Democracy so the people of china would have more freedoms. They also wanted to improve economic conditions by opening up world trade more so than just what the spheres of influence offered. This was similar to the Russian Revolution led by Lenin. Lenin promised land, money and food for all. The Russian people also just wanted more freedom and prosperity than they had under the Czars.
Since the goals of these two countries were the same the outcomes were also similar. Once the Nationalist party overthrew the Qing Dynasty they set up a republic. Even though they succeeded, they faced opposition from the Communists in China. This led to a lengthy civil war which would not be resolved until after World War II. This differed from the Russians who immediately put Lenin in power of the U.S.S.R, and the opposition they did face was minimal. There was not a power struggle nearly to the same magnitude as the power struggle in China. In Comparison both countries ended up with Communist Governments after the Revolutions had taken place.
Overall, there were many more similarities than there were differences between the two Revolutions. Both started out wanting more freedoms and both ended up with Communist Governments. The only major difference was that there was not a major power struggle in Russia like there was in China after the Revolutions.

I disagree. I would give it a 5, and would argue that it is important that you separate out the introduction so that they are clear on your thesis. I would, however, encourage you to make your thesis more comprehensive.
