Please help a prospective transfer student to Columbia/ Wharton

Hi I am a senior who got admitted to WUSTL class of 2019.

Although I’m incredibly grateful that I got into such an amazing school, my dream school always has been Columbia university, where I was rejected from. I am, however, planning to attend WUSTL, but also planning to try transferring to Columbia (or wharton). I know the chances are extremely slim but I really want to give it a try.

So my questions are,

  1. Do I have to retake the SATs when I apply as a transfer applicant? or can I use my old SAT scores?
  2. If I apply at the end of my freshmen year, is my high school GPA weighed over my first year college GPA?
  3. Will the fact that I’m applying from a top 20 private school increase my chances of acceptance to Columbia/ wharton?

And just fyi I have almost perfect scores but horrible high school GPA (that’s why I’m hoping a stellar first year GPA at WUSTL can compensate for my abysmal hs gpa…)
And if possible, could someone please tell me if I even have the slightest chance with my horrible HS GPA?

Thank you very much in advance!
And please note that I’m not at all bashing WUSTL or anything!

And I apologize for posting this on multiple forums… But I just really need some advice :frowning:

You need to contact the transfer admissions offices at each place and ask them.

@happymomof1 thank you for your advice!
