Please help create a realistic college list

Currently, I’m looking at UT-Austin, UT-Dallas (safety), Texas A&M (visited once and didn’t love it), Rice, Carnegie-Mellon, and Grove City. Not interested in Ivy Leagues. It’s a very transient list though and I need real suggestions and feedback please as August looms.

Parents contribution: 20k (25k, if the school is elite/top tier)

Major: Undecided, but probably Pre-med with either Chemistry or Computer Science. I’m undecided between medical school, teaching/school admin, and research right now.

NOT rural, prefer large urban or suburb with urban access.
Regions: East Coast to Midwest, Texas (resident)
Midsize or large w/honors college niche

760 (CR) 750 (M) 760 (WR)
Separate dates: 2210, 2250
PSAT: 216 - probably just NMS Commended
3.98 GPA UW
ACT: 33

Classes:
Private online schooled - applying as home schooler
Almost all honors, no access to AP classes until Junior year.

MacroEcon (4), MicroEcon (5), Latin (3), English Lang (5), Calc (Senior), Chem (Senior)
Several dual credit community college classes - 4.0 GPA

ECAs:
pretty weak here imo…
Some academic clubs
Co-founder/yearly organizer of our school’s Teacher Appreciation initiative since 8th grade (5-10hrs per week for 5 months)
Teen Court for two years (soon to be attorney)
100 community service hours in hospitals, school, church

Moved 5-6 times since JrHigh (4 international)
I want the option to switch majors, do research, and live off campus after freshman year.
No preference between co-ed/all women
Family Income 100-120k (both parents working, 6 kids)
Southeast Asian

Aside from size, location, and price, what are some other qualities do you want in a college with regards to:

Greek life?
Big sports?
Diversity?
Big party scene?
Nice dorms?
Good food?

@CaliCash
Greek life? don’t really care
Big sports? prefer a more academic focus, but it’s not a big deal
Diversity? lack of racial/ethnic diversity is deal breaker for me
Big party scene? again, not really my thing as I prefer more academics, but not a big deal
Nice dorms? yes, separate honors/departmental dorms are a plus
Good food? some variety is good, especially if a meal plan is required

Thanks for the help

You could look into the University of Minnesota. Their science & engineering is well-respected, has high-level students and would likely accept you, and possibly into their honors program (though I don’t know much about the honors). They emphasize undergrad research and it’s very close to downtown Minneapolis. It’s a huge public university, which I’m not sure would appeal to you or not. Good fit for anyone who might appreciate but doesn’t care too much about big sports, party life and Greek life. Relatively affordable for out of state, plus scholarships for nonresidents.

Good luck in your searching, and it looks like you have great options already!

try UMD college park. there are quite a few asians in maryland area (15% of school is asian). its close to NIH and our capitol. Its pretty good in comp science(i just checked, someone ranked it 15th in the nation). there are separate honors dorms. Food there is not bad. They have planned meal plans, but also other plans.

i think there is a full scholarship handed out, shouldn’t be hard for you to get.
