Please help! : filling out FAFSA with SSDI

Hello! I need help filling out the FAFSA. I receive SSDI. So when it asks if I have completed my tax return, do I say "not going to file"? As far as I know I haven't had to file for taxes for 2 or 3 years now because the money that I receive is not taxable income. SSDI is the only income I receive. But if I say I am not going to file, then it never asks me anywhere if I receive SSDI, don't I need to tell them that somehow?

Also, there is a spot where I have an option to click "Other untaxed income not reported such as workers' compensation or disability", I read on a few threads that that type of "disability" is taxable , it is not social security disability, is this true?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!!

If you are not required to file a tax return, you indicate “not going to file.” You do NOT report SSDI as income (other types of untaxed disability payments ARE reported as untaxed income). If you have $0 income on the FAFSA, that is okay … you might be verified, but you would just complete a non-tax filer statement, on which there would be a place to indicate that you receive SSDI.
