Thinkin about studying business...If this is the case, is the extra 100k worth spending?????(probably would have to take out 50k in loans)

No. No. No.

NO! Don’t do it.

Of course not. If it were Harvard, it might be worth arguing about.

Just say no!

I know several people at UNC who turned down UF to go to the business school here. None of them regret their decision, although I don’t know how much of a part finances played in their choice.

i know but i’d have to take out loans…

What kind of business? The Fischer School of Accounting at UF is great…

Pick the cheaper one.

accounting or finance…but isnt the accounting school not for undergrads?

50k in loans is too much for undergrad IMHO, especially for a large state school when you have a similar alternative.

If it is going to be big financial issue for you I would pick UF. There is no need to burden yourself with a lot of loans, particularly in this economy.

yeah…the loans would definatly be a burden

UNC is a really good school and a top 5 public university, but 50K in loans is a lot. I wonder if you could make this case to the admissions office? UNC is not really too similar to UF…but, it’s obvious that you’re a good student, so I’m sure you’d do well anywhere.

Did you get any merit-based aid from UNC or UF?

i have bright futures for uf (free tuition) but unc gave me no help…i contacted the FAO and they said they couldnt do anything…

I think it would be hard to turn down a free ride, but the schools are very different. Are you going to graduate school? If so, you should definitely choose UF.

you gotta go with UF and FREE TUITION. You can get to a quality grad/professional program out of UF if you do well so do not fret.

You have to go to UF, unless you totally hate the notion of belonging to that whole thing of Gator Nation… (yikes) But then again, if that were the case, you would not have applied.

UF makes sense.
