Ok, so im going to be starting college next year and i would really like some advice about how i can get into one of the top law schools after college. im going to nyu as part of the scholars program.

i know i have to get good lsat scores...any advice on how to study? or when to start?

so...

in high school we had ap classes, what is there in college? how can i set myself apart from other students?

are extracurriculars still important?

what other advice do u have?

will i have to write essays?

is there such a thing as early decision for law school
?

Chill out NYUGirlie, you are going to have a nervous breakdown at this rate. Start with enjoying your learning experience as an undergrad. Major in a field that fascinates you and get good grades. Look at any Law school students profile and you will see that there is not one "type". Popular majors include the following: Economics, English, History, Language majors, Political Science, Philosophy and Sociology. But there are many equally appealing majors, such as Biology, Engineering and Music. So do not feel like you are obligated to concentrate in a "traditional" major.

But like I said, do not start panicking. Save it for your junior year, when you should should start preparing for the LSAT. For now, find out what field of study appeals to you and maintain as high a GPA as you can.

Go out and play. There's more to life than law school. You'll spend 30 years working in a field that you'll love and law school eats up only 3 years of your life. So what would you rather do while in college? Study for the LSATs for something that's going to take up 3 years of your life OR find a passion that you want to do for life? Law school only supplements your passion.

also, i think that those 3 yrs will make a big difference in the rest of my life!....depending on where i go....please give me advice! are ecs important?
