Test Scores are projected...not actual.

I am considering Drexel's accelerated program. I am
also considering VCU's 8-year guaranteed admission
program. I am a high school junior right now, and I
had the worst possible GPA for a future doctor (2.6). I
have worked hard my sophomore year and I earned a
3.6 GPA 1st semester and a 4.0 2nd semester

I am expecting a 3.3+ cumm. GPA and 1800+ or 1900+
on the SAT. I am also planning 3 IB courses.

Can someone help me with this dilemma? Do I have a
chance at these schools and their programs? Am I
aiming too low or high?

If I get a perfect 4.0 for the rest 5 semesters my cumm.
is a 3.6 and my weighted is probably a 3.67.

Thank you so much for any help.

IMHO, you should reduce your list to these:

University of Colorado
Washington State University
Virginia Commonwealth University (BA/MD)
University of Oregon
University of Arizona
University of Washington
Drexel University (BA/MD)
Colorado State University
Loyola University
Michigan State University

Thanks, why didn't you choose the other colleges?

I really wanted to give WWU, and University of the Sciences in Philadelphia a chance.

bump please...

bump please...

University of Colorado
Colorado State University

University of Arizona
Arizona State University

Oregon State University
University of Oregon

Washington State University
University of Washington

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
Michigan State University

ummm there's kind of a pattern here lol
definitely take some of these off

I can't decide between U Conn, Penn State, Cornell, or U of Vermont. Am also considering RUtgers and U of Maryland. Majoring in Animal Science. Also U Mass- Amherst. SAT V-660 M-700 Class rank 15/395 GPA 4.0 Help please

The University of the Sciences is very specialized, and feels less like a typical undergraduate college than the others on your list.

As for WWU, it is a decent school, but others have better facilities, and are easier to get into.

It's just my opinion though, so keep that in mind. In the Portland Metro area, WWU has an okay reputation, but UOregon, UWashington, WSU, etc...have better ones. Even Oregon State (a school I suggested you cut, earlier) has a higher profile in the Pacific Northwest.

The benefit of WWU is that its on the small side compared to some of your other possible schools, and its location in a small city near the Canadian border can be beautiful...although it does rain & snow more than other places in the Northwest.

ajr62807: I don't think I've noticed that pattern too much. Is it a problem?

Thanks IsleBoy for your opinions on WWU and USP.

Horsegirl: Why did you steal my thread? :)

Any other opinions?

Thanks again.

bump please...

bump please...

I think U mich is a big reach....dont go asu...u Of A is ok.......Out of your list I would rec. UCBoulder cuz the campus is beautiful and the fact that you could get in there......U of Wash is prob a reach too....forget bout Northwest if you dont like rain...lolz

I was thinking about Colorado but I live in Washington State so I'm used to the rain.

Why is ASU bad?

what is pre-pre-calculus?

SHS... I live in phoenix....so I have tons and tons of friends who go to ASU...
I should have stated my point differently about ASU...
I should have said go to ASU if you want a huge school....most of my friends say that they dont even feel as if they are a student at the school..cuz there are just so so so many people
If you want to be in multiple classses with over 600 people.....
Ok well I am mostly biased...cuz i would never go to asu....is probably cuz ive lived in this city for 17 years and i cant wait to get out.....I see now that you live in seattle so you would probably enjoy U of Arizona ... my brother goes there and seems to enjoy it........so dont accept my advice about asu...

Ok... out of your list
number 1 would be COlorado....the campus is drop dead gorgeous...
number 2. U of A---- it also is a nice campus.. but i think the academics are a bit better..not sure bout that tho...

goo luck

Andrew: Pre-Pre Calc is Half of Pre Calculus, the first year.

Chillin: I've heard the same about ASU, I'm not particularly enthusiastic about going there, I was hoping it could be a safety.

Colorado is one of my top choices.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry. I'm completely new here and don't know what I'm doing. I did not understand that I was being pushy. I thought it was a general discussion.

Don't worry about it.

SHS:

Your test scores are on the high side for ASU, as is your GPA.

Oh cool, thanks.

Anyone else?
