Hello! My school has incorrectly inserted my name for Collegeboard as *q (3 letter name), when my actual name is *o. Now, **q is what comes up on my admissions ticket, and I was unable to contact Collegeboard. My test is approaching. Will they accept me with a 1 letter difference?

-**o.

Not sure, but I don’t think it’ll work out. I just had the same experience a few hours ago. I had all the identical information but the name differed, so they wouldn’t let me take the test. But, then again, that’s in my case, not sure about yours.

Oh, how much did your name differ by? Was it your first name or last name?

Well, by a lot. It turned out to be printed with my nickname, for some reason. Anyway, by the looks of the past forums, I think you’d be fine.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the reason why they want the names correct on both sheets is to prevent accidental identity theft? Say my name is extremely rare, and I’m the only person with the first/last name combination in the United States.

I’m just stressing out because I was really preparing for this SAT.

Yeahp. That’s correct. Anyways, it’s my fault that I made that silly mistake. I just saw someone in the forum who had a similar situation as you, I just can’t find the link of it.

Ok ok thank you. That eased me a little.

But don’t too eased. The policy might have changed over the years. So, even a slightest misspelling might cause you to not take the test. Anyways, good luck on your test!

T____T I’ll just go in early and talk to the test administrators. Hopefully get something worked out.

Hopefully. Good luck on your test!
