Hi,

I was recently accepted into Mcgill's Faculty of Agriculture however I was unaware that that school was on the McDonald Campus. Is it possible the transfer to the Bachelor of Arts degree after I accept my admission and before classes start? Also, if I am unable to do this, would I still able to live on the downtown campus if I am in the Faculty of Agriculture? Please Please help!

I meant if it was possible to transfer into the Faculty of Education not Arts. Sorry!

I was going to say something earlier to this but decided to wait in hope of someone who knows better would offer something definitive. My guess is that it is not possible to transfer before you start your first semester at the school. If it is, then it would totally circumvent the admission process where each school has its own admission pool and decisions. Inter faculty transfer after the first year is probably your first best opportunity.

Below is a FAQ page that may answer some of your questions. One thing that is stated, there is 8 credit limit that you can take outside of the Faculty during your freshman year. This should mean that you have to take a number of classes in McDonald Campus, which would really make your life difficult in terms of daily commuting between the 2 campuses if you elect to take some classes down-town. Courses are pretty much the same anyway for the freshman year, it seems like a lot of hoops with upward of an hour or two a day of commuting time to be able to live down-town. Socially, I don’t know, it could be very awkward. Where is your study group and your group of friends? It might work ok, but then again it might not.
