Quite frankly I'm not really sure which one is better and which city is better. All I know is that list linked above shows the universities that teach Software Engineering and that are taught in complete English. Due to the upcoming deadlines I need to make a decision fast, and I don't have the luxury or time to be visiting every potential university in China ($1,500 for NON-round-trip ticket).

Right now I think I'm thinking to decide between Sichuan University and Wuhan University but I'm open to hear opinions about other universities. What are the pros and cons of each (education, location, prices, adaptability, etc.)?

So far nobody has answered my previous forum post which kind of explains but yet asks why I'm going to study in China and whether I should go in the first place. The link to that post is: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/study-abroad/1648493-chinese-universities-vs-american-universities.html#latest

Hopefully the only reason people didn't answer the other post was because of the length, and I hope somebody will be able to help me since I have absolutely no idea what other resources to use.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

Thanks!

As a Chinese and a high school student from Chengdu (where Sichuan University is located in), let me help you with all your questions. From perspective, two really top universities in China are Peking University and Tsinghua University. These two are really tough for Chinese students (especially students who do not live in Beijing) to enroll in. I noticed that you mentioned Sichuan University and Wuhan University. Actually, both of them are really famous and reputable universities in China. (If you want a ranking, I bet both of them are in TOP 10). However, if I were you, I would choose Sichuan University due to the city of Chengdu. Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan province and migh be the 4th biggest city in mainland China. Chengdu is also the hometown of panda and the origin city of Sichuan food. Transportation in Chengdu is well-developed. We now have hundreds of public bus lanes and 2 subway lanes(more subway lanes are building). Since you are a foreign student, you gotta take a flight to China. Chengdu now has direct flight to London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, San Francisco, Melbourne and so on. Sichuan University actually has several campuses, and the main campus is just in the downtown of Chengdu. I took IELTS there for like twice, and I think it is an adorable campus. Moreover, I wanna say that you may need to know it is actually really hard for us to enroll in Sichuan University. I mean if you are a high school student, you are not likely to get a chance to enroll in that university unless you have a highly-competitive grade in Gaokao. Maybe less than 1 percent of Gaokao participants in Sichuan could have that chance. Therefore, Sichuan University is a really good choice, I highly recommend you to come to Chengdu. By the way, let me just say the reason why I do not recommend Wuhan is due to its climate. Wuhan is famous for its high temperature in summer, in a word, the climate is worse than that of Chengdu. At last, if you have more questions about China or Chinese universities, just leave me a message.
