Please help me decide on a Masters Program (IR focus)

I just graduated back in May from a top New England private college. I majored in International Relations and Arabic, and graduated with a 3.6 GPA. I also completed Army ROTC while in college, and am now an intelligence officer in the Army Reserve. This past summer, I spend time working at two different internships in the DC area. Finally, I took the GRE recently and likely scored at least 700 (old scale) on each section. I know what the job market is like, and there just aren't many interesting employment opportunities without a MA. Hence, why I'm applying to programs this winter.

The problem is, I'm not sure what I want to study yet. My whole life, I've been interested in Security Studies. However, with both of the wars dying down, I'm not so certain that's the route I want to take. It sounds corny, but I really want to help people by doing work on the ground. I definitely don't want to spend my days writing policy papers at DC think tanks. Joining the Army arose out of my desire to take on an active role in the international system, but alas, the two wars are finally dying down. Would a MA in Security Studies lead to limited career prospects (ie, only intelligence services, think tanks, etc)? What other opportunities are out there for someone interested in strategy/intelligence? Should I look into studying International Development, perhaps? Any ideas or shared experience would be much appreciated, as I'm looking to buckle down and do some serious research over the coming weeks. Thanks for reading!

Short answer: yes, focusing primarily on security/intelligence will probably funnel you to the intel/policy/think-tank community, at least at first.
