Have you considered [Drake University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication](School of Journalism & Mass Communication | Drake University)?. It immediately popped into my mind based on your criteria. The J Term would likely be of particular interest for someone with your academic interests.
Another school you may be interested in is the University of St. Thomas, located in Minneapolis. The programs are very well developed, and if you’re looking for a medium sized, more urban school, UST might be just what you’re looking for.
I liked butler because of the size, the academics, and the loaction, how it was close to the city but no actually IN the city. Also butler felt like a tight knit community. I just don’t want to go to a school that is too small with not much to do on campus so that’s why Marquette (8,000) students appeals to me but it is religious which i don’t really want. Mizzou has a very well known communications school but I don’t know if I’d feel overwhelmed and lost in the crowd with 30,000 students. Mizzou would have a ton to do on campus though, which is appealing.
Bradley is a good school, but it you want more going on then Butler would be a better choice. Don’t know a lot about Drake, but around here it has a good reputation for certain majors.
taskmstrx: Thats what i have heard and thought about. I am leaning more towards butler than bradley, even though their academics are similar, I want to have things to do on campus. I’d get bored at bradley
Erin’s Dad: I have looked in U of Dayton but have heard that the students are really into partying and drinking there. I know it happens at every college but it seemed like a predominant theme from some reviews on the school. Also, I dont really want to go to a catholic/religous school
