Please! Help Me MAKE A DECISION. Thank You.

Hi. So I'm in a serious dilemma deciding what my top choice should be.

I have narrowed down my top choices to the Brown/RISD Dual Program or Yale. I'm really having trouble deciding which one to pick for Early.

I could do Early Decision Brown and Early Action RISD simultaneously. If I am accepted to both then I can reapply for the Dual Program. The dual program is strong for those who are passionate both about intellectual learning in the humanities at Brown/ and also intensive artisitic development at the Rhode Island School of Design. This is almost like a dream, I loved Brown, what a great atmosphere, not to mention Providence is an awesome place to live for young people. Secondly, RISD, is kind of like THE Harvard of Art Schools, its crazy good for making real artists/designers out of people. Not to mention the program is five years love, in which at the end I could earn a Bachelors of Fine Arts from RISD, and a Bachelors of Arts from Brown. That's two undergrad degrees in five years, which probably looks good for any up and coming professional.

My other option, equally pleasing, is Yale University. I loved Yale also. The atmosphere just like Brown is what got me. Non-pretentious and happy kids. Not to mention phenonmonal academics tied with a really good art program as well. Yale has a great fine arts program, better than most of the other schools out there. While Yale is a bit harder to get into than Brown, correct me if I'm wrong? it might be an awesome oppurtunity also. I feel though, to get into Yale, I should apply Early Action, but its restrictive so I can't do early anywhere else.

My issue is if I get rejected from Yale, I don't want to lower my chances also for Brown by having to move it to regular decision. But if I apply ED to Brown, I have to go there even if I don't get into RISD, not that I would complain. But I might still have that mentality, what if I could have gotten into Yale? You know?

I'm just very confused. What do you think is the best direction for me?
Career-wise I want to be an artist/designer living in a city with a focus on green/humanitarian efforts within the art/design. Do you see one option better for me?

I'm just really confused, with what decision to make. Thanks for any help! =]

bump, anyone?

Yale is a lot harder than RISD, no? I think you should do brown. Your more likely to suceed.

by succeed, do you mean getting accepted or career-wise?
just curious.
thanks for reading it and your suggestion. =]

Would prefer going to Brown (non-RISD) or Yale? If you're leaning towards Brown (or if you feel that you would still have an excellent undergrad experience there, if not necessarily better than Yale), then you should apply to the RISD program, because it seems you very much prefer that option.

i meant being accepted... You'd most likely suceed in both career-wise :)

thank you very much.

i think i'm leaning towards brown/risd.

but, gah. the thought of being accepted at yale also would be great.

yes. BUT the chances of getting rejected seem higher by your notion.

well, i definitely think i'm qualified for yale.
i for one, however, don't take hyp as a shoe-in for anyone.
even the smartest students get rejected from there.
so its not that i don't have faith in myself, but i don't consider it a definite possibility.
my chances are just as good as most people applying there. but i could rejected, or i could get accepted.
