just have your mom move here in CA now and you will be able to get to those UCs

there’s plenty of time to move west after college.

If I were you, I’d recommend checking out the schools on your list on College Prowl-er (can’t link, but it’s a website- google it). It gives you a student’s perspecrive and you can really get a sense for what the school is like. I find the Inside Scoop section especially helpful. Coming from a girl who started her college search with a list too long to even write, spending some time on student-written sources is SO helpful to understanding what the school is actually like.
I’m assuming that you’re a current junior since you don’t have your test scores so you still have plenty of time. Also, don’t just apply to schools because it’s an Ivy or in the top 10 on USNews and World. You do have to be happy wherever you end up. And having started the application process, after looking at all of the supplemental essays you’ll have to write, you will not want to apply to any more than 10 schools. And even 10 is a lot.
That being said, narrowing down your list is really your decision. Other than a strong pre-med program you haven’t really mentioned what you want in a college. But CP has been the ultimate tool in my search.

Seriously. Just apply to the schools that you marked you were definitely applying to, plus a safety or two. Eight schools is more than enough.

Thanks, Caroline2012!
I will check that out soon
Also, I just want to narrow this down to 15~ schools-any mote would be (more) crazy, and any less would make me have the whole, “what if I got in there?” routine… :-/

Since you are interested in premed, you could add Rice and/or Emory to your list.
