Please Help Me Out, I Need Some Advice!!!

good luck! when do u find out?

Its gonna be posted online on Feb 1st

Ohh man, another question guys if you don't mind me asking... On the OPUS To Do List, theres a bunch of things listed. Does that mean they haven't gotten those things yet? or just like a list of things I need to have sent? Cause it lists my essays and transcripts and stuff, all of which I have already sent...

lots of people here have had issues wih OPUS being updated very very very late. so, if you sent all of it before the deadline, then you shouldn't really be concerned cause they're probably sifting through all that stuff now. :)

What if I sent in something late (the signature form)...
I was in a foreign country when I applied, so could I use that as an excuse? Cause I was in Yemen, which is as 3rd world as it gets

Emory will want your senior year grades, even if out late.

when you say Emory's sat policy do you mean how they superscore with multiple sittings?

I think he might have meant that Emory unofficially doesn't give a crap about the Writing section.

Speaking of superscoring, does anybody know the logic behind superscoring the SAT but not the ACT? It seems to me, taking tests multiple times and cherry picking scores makes the process more complicated than it should be. We should all just be limited to one testing, except if we cancel scores. My SAT writing wasn't as good as I wanted, but I wasn't going to endure the torture of sitting in a desk quiet for hours on end a few more times.

lol but then the idiots like me whodecide to take it beginning of sophomore year like me are screwed. when you look at how high my SAT jumps (correlating to how much I gave a crap about testing for 5 hours), it's kind of scary. and a lot of it has to do with that stupid 10th grade testing...

aznnincompoop:
Boston College is the competitive one (although i would argue not as competitive as Emory)
boston University is easier to get into

and yes, I meant since Emory will disregard you writing score, you sit at a pretty good score out of 1600.

I think you'll have some good news on the way, but I do hope you have a safety school

This might be a stupid question, but when people say they're applying to BU, do they mean Brown University or Boston University? There's quite a difference between the two.

WHen I say BU I mean Boston University. And John, when you talk about good news on the way, are you talking to me or azn?

haha you, I believe.
I haven't posted my stats anywhere on this forum :)

Ahhh okk, Thanks alot then man! Oh, so on the OPUS To DO List, it still says they havent gotten any of my essays, counselor recs, or transcripts! I spoke to my counselor, he said he sent all that stuff and I know I submitted the common app on time. I tried claling the office, but they send me to that sstupid voicemail thing like with moviefone. It says they need "several weeks" to process it but OPUS says 5 business days. Anybody know what the deal is?

5 days basically equals several weeks. don't fret about it. :0

Ahh thanks guys, I'm sooo worried.. you have no idea how much this is killing me. If I don't get in, I don't know what I'm going to do....
