<p>@underbear for me it’s partly that and partly that this semester I’m in the hardest classes I’ve ever taken.</p>
<p>keep my fingers crossed</p>
<p>@flowerchild747
I emailed her, but she hasn’t replied yet</p>
<p>@Couldbeit Okay, So I got in touch with my Admissions Officer over the phone and she reported my grades and then told me that as long as I have a 3.0 GPA for the Spring and Winter Semester combined then I can SIR and go to Cal. </p>
<p>@flowerchild747
So, should I call her directly or should I continue waiting for her email?</p>
<p>How accurate are admission officers with their advice?
On a slightly different topic, but on my TAG for UCI they told me I had to get a B in a major course. I told them I couldn’t and they changed the requirement to a different major course. I dropped the first major course and the admission officer said it was fine as long as I complete the updated requirement. </p>
<p>Am I in the clear to SIR or wait until I send them official spring transcripts to wait and see if they rescind? </p>
<p>@tempacc12341
I am going to wait :(</p>
<p>@Couldbeit Did they reply yet? If not, you should call. </p>
I know this is an old forum, but I was a bit confused on this part of my conditions of admission:
In addition, you must:
Complete the following specific course(s):
CHEM 3B: General Chemistry I - Part 2
CSCI 10: Introduction to Computing
MATH 31: Analytical Geometry and Calculus II w/ B grade or better
Does this mean Calc. 2 is the only class I need to get B in. I have an A in calc. 2 and CSCI 10, but a C in Chem.
All of them it sounds to me.
@Harren Berkeley is the least concerned UC with GPA. Mine was 3.27 and I have multiple C’s, D’s, W’s, and F’s.
@lindyk8, I’m pretty sure it is only calc. 2 since it is the only class this semester that is a major prerequisite. I only took chem and computer since for Davis. Plus I saw someone else’s conditions of admission and it had a note saying: *IT’S IMPORTANT THAT ALL THE ABOVE CLASSES ARE COMPLETED WITH A GRADE B OR BETTER. I paraphrased a little, but it was something like that.
@lindyk8: At this point Chem is just an elective because I have fulfilled all my IGETC, and all my major prerequisites except for Calc. 2.
Yeah, maybe you’re right. It would probably say words to the effect of 3.0 for whole term.
I’m in a similar situation. I really regret taking one hard class this semester.
I have questions about the conditions as well. I ended up not taking several “planned” classes in spring and became a half-time student. None of the classes is required for my major and I have already notified the admissions officer but I’m not sure what will happen to my offer.
@hoshino, you should be fine as long as it isn’t any major prerequisite, and your general breadth of requirements are fulfilled–such as the IGETC. There are many forums and that topic, and from what I read all of them had their conditions of admission updated.
@FlowerChild417 Is that for real? did you end up SIR UCB? I am having a 2.94 GPA tight now, but I have two As in winter. I just emailed admission, btw what number do you call?
@flowerchild747 What explanation did you give to them ? I am I the situation as you last year, I need to explain why I didn’t meet the condition and how to make up it. I don’t know what excuse other than I mess up with all four hardest classes in my last spring. My mother is sick but I don’t know if that could work.
