I was wondering about the provisional contract for both schools as a transfer student. I've heard that you have to get a 3.0 GPA or above in the last semester before transfer.

Can anyone confirm with me that they look at both Winter and Spring semesters for this provisional contract? Unfortunately, there is a chance that I may receive below a 3.0 this semester, but during the winter I took multiple courses and got a 4.0.

I updated the TAU with only the Fall grades, and updated it again mid-Feb (past the deadline) with the Winter grades. I emailed both of the schools in March and they got back to me saying that they are putting my winter grades into consideration for the admission evaluation.

When I applied to Berkeley (EECS, two cycles ago) the conditions were a 3.0+ for every term after Fall. That included Winter, Spring, and Summer, though I never updated my winter grades on TAU. I think they consider each term separately, not averaging them together, but you might want to call and verify if you’re borderline.

@WhiteTiger84 Well you should be keeping it high regardless of what your overall GPA is, especially for higher tier schools like UCLA and Berkeley. If you plan on going to grad, you should know that they look at your community college GPA too.

@WhiteTiger84 Oh. I don’t think it’s written in stone, but it does work against you. I think if you had a solid reason for the drop and you explained it in your application, your chances are still pretty good.
