Please help me! UCSD vs. honors UCSB vs...

Hey, I am trying to decide between UCSD and UCSB (in the honors program). I would probably be majoring in art, but I'm also interested in writing and psychology. I also got into UCD and UCSC.

I REALLY would like to go to RISD, but I got put on the waiting list. Now I suppose I should write them a letter, but it worries me that I wouldn't have any finacial aid. Is that completely true? No financial aid??

Please help me in my college ignorance! I tried to learn about the art programs at the UCs, and looked online for the classes and galleries, but I can't detect any discrepancy between them. Does anyone know anything about them? Should I wait to apply to RISD and try to transfer there?

Thanks so much.

take UCSD...

make a deposit at UCSD and stay on the RISD waitlist.

I know UCSD is the most popular out of my choices (excluding RISD), but it might not have a good art program. Maybe it does, and it's overshadowed by science and engineering. I wish I knew.
May I ask why you favor UCSD?

UCSD for sure. More prestigious, tougher to get into, better school. Choose UCSD unless there is something specific you like about UCSB.

UCSB. You can probably get just as good as education in the honors program at UCSB, and actually have fun while you're doing it.

Thanks for your opinions. They are really helpful in my decision (which is pretty difficult for me). I'm sort of favoring UCSD, unless I find out that UCSB has a much better art program. But you know, students online complain about a lack of a social life and aloof teachers at UCSD, while everyone at UCSB seems to be (drunkenly?) happy.

If you are an active person, that is, you like to party, then go to UCSB.

Going to UCSB Honors means you drink Heineken instead of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
