As an international student, it is important to understand that, even though your credentials are great, it will be hard to get in to a college period. Financial aid is not available to non-usa citizens and merit aid will be difficult to find.

emmacat1234, your list only includes universities. It doesn’t include the LACs (liberal arts colleges - which, OP, are like universities but much smaller and don’t have grad schools or pre-professional majors like engineering). Many provide significant financial aid to internationals with top grades and test scores. Grinnell and Macalester are examples (Around 11% of the student bodies at both are international).

How do colleges view international applicants that are able to finance their tuition fees themselves? Is it as hard for them to get in to college? I’d imagine they’d be quite welcome since their tuition fees will probably be higher.
