Hi CC,
I live in Massachusetts and would prefer not to go to college more than 5 hours away. I am looking to study either economics or finance. I have a 3.97 UW GPA, 1390 SAT (670CR/W + 720 M), and have some very focused business-related extracurriculars. I am looking at selective universities as well as liberal arts colleges (probably 20-40% acceptance range). School size, urban/rural is not really important to me. I just want to find some schools to apply to that have a great business program and will be the right fit for me.
Thanks
Liberal arts colleges, pretty much by definition, do not offer program business programs.
What about finances? How much can your parents afford to pay? Northeastern and BU are good options and you may get merit aid there.
There is also BC and UMass.
I think the max we could pay out of pocket is 35-40K / year @TomSrOfBoston , which I’m hoping I can get most colleges down to with financial aid and grants
But they do offer economics, which the OP mentioned as one of two possible majors.
@marvin100 so, what would you suggest as some possible colleges to apply to?
Well, Babson is an obvious target, esp. if the OP’s business interests include entrepreneurship. Brandeis, BC, Tufts also seem to fit the bill, although some are reachier than others.
Villanova has a very good undergrad business school it was recently rated number one in the nation I believe.
Fordham is definitely good for business.
UmassAmherst Eisenberg School and Bentley would be two good choices.
I enjoy the knowledge on your web site. With thanks!.
