Your prospective major at Cornell makes a huge difference for your chances, so you may want to list your major so people can fully assess your shot.

FYI, if you’re applying to Cornell’s college of arts and sciences, your chances are probably low with your gpa.

Thank you very much east89 :-). The College I’m applying to at Cornell University is Human Ecology to major in Human Development.

Thanks for that update. If you write some really strong essays, I think you should be able to get into Human Ec, since you have lots of volunteer experience under your belt.

Thanks :-). Anyone elses advice would be greatly appreciated and helpful.

Heartsurgeon…I have a feeling that I’ll be seeing you at Cornell in the Fall!!
What area of Humec are you considering for your major?
You sound like an intelligent person w/alot of compassion.
I’m a GT for Humec (PAM) and am moving to Cornell on January 18th, 2010!!! I hate snow, but, love Cornell!!!
All the best!
p.s…I was invited to the Multicultural Visitation last October. Were you there? You sound familiar?

i just got accepted to humec for HD.

i think your ECs are fantastic. if you attach a letter explaining that you were ill and that your illness affected your performance, that should cover that part of your application. next, make sure you have the pre-reqs completed. your essays will be what makes or breaks you, so research everything that you can about humec and the HD major. i also suggest making an appointment to see the transfer advisor. if you can’t make it in person, you can do it over the phone. PM me if you have any questions :)
