Hello everybody,
I am a current high school senior and must decide on a college soon. My top choices right now are UC Irvine or UC Berkeley both on the premed track? Thoughts?
UC IRVINE:
-better location
-i am in their honors collegium > priority registration for classes
-easier to maintain high GPA hopefully
UC BERKELEY:
-more academically challenging > better prepare for medical school
-more well known school
Which school do you prefer? Both will be highly competitive and challenging as a “pre-med” student, so you want to attend a school where you have the best chance for a High GPA, access to medically related EC’s, good pre-med advising and affordable by keeping undergrad costs low.
UCI with Honors and priority registration I believe would be a better option. The perks with Honors includes smaller class sizes, better access to your professors and research opportunities.
Prestige/Name recognition not important in Medical school admissions. Go to the school where you think you can excel.
