Please help us decide whether to retake SAT or not

Without knowing the reasons behind the relatively lower Math scores, it is difficult to recommend taking a SAT Math Subject test over retaking the "normal" SAT.

I would highly encourage your daughter to take practice tests for all the tests and see how well she does. Please do not believe that it is easier to get a good score on the Math Level 1 than on the Math Level II. The opposite is true because the Math Level II offers a more generous curve and rewards AMPLY students who know how to operate their calculator.

For most students, it is easier to raise the score on the SAT, especially after identifying the weaknesses through a series of dedicated practice tests. For the math sections, extra practices really pay dividends.

As far as taking the SAT a third time, have NO hesitation about potential negative impacts. Only the scores matter! Do not let any old tales influence you and let your daughter take it until she reaches her targeted score.

True, susu, but my point was that if you decide to take a Math SAT 2, you must take the 2C.

This page confirms that only the SAT II Math 2C is acceptable for UC admissions, if you're submitting a Math SAT II score:

Two SAT Subject Tests.
These must be in two different areas, chosen from the following: history, literature, mathematics (Level 2 only), science or language other than English.

Get a tutor and study math problems in College Board study guide and PR 11 practice test books. Both available in book stores. If your son/daughter does all of the problems in these practice test books, can raise score substantially.
