I got accepted into both USC (Communications) and UCLA (undeclared) and I don't know which one to choose! I'm hoping to do a communications major with a second major/minor in film/tv studies. I'm an international student and I've never been to both campuses, I would really like to know more about the two campuses and their respective locations. Also, I heard that USC has a really good alumni system but considerably worse reputation compared to UCLA...

Please help! Thank you very much!

As an international student, the cost of both universities is probably around the same so taking money out of the equation I would say USC unless you are a regent at UCLA. Although UCLA’s location in Brentwood is a lot nicer than the USC surroundings, the pros of USC far outweigh the cons. At USC, a private school, there is a smaller student to faculty ratio, amazing study abroad opportunities, and a crazy strong alumni network. As a Cali native, I will tell you that the UC’s are facing a lot of budget cuts therefore increasing class sizes/ making it hard for students to get the classes they need/ want. USC is going up in the rankings and I wouldn’t say it has a worse rep than UCLA esp in SoCal.
