To begin with, I am currently attending my university through the help of financial aids. I am taking 13 credits for this term. Things were okay at first but as the days go by, my situation has gotten worse.
My family consists of me, my mother and my father and we own a little family restaurant. My mother has completed her breast cancer treatment but is still recovering from it and recently, my father seemed to have a pinched nerve around his right palm, which may need surgery. As a result, I am using most of my time working for my parents and I do notice that my academic grades are falling and so I am deciding to take the school off for at least two month so i can fill in for my father until he goes through the surgery.
What will happen to my current financial aid and future financial aids if I withdraw from my current courses? Would I have to pay back the current financial aid that I have used for this term since I won't be able to finish the courses?

At this point in the semester, you likely will get to keep your financial aid, since there is a good chance you may not even get a refund for your courses. You will want to check with your school’s financial aid office and registrar’s office to confirm the last day you can withdraw without receiving a failing grade.

Wait! If you withdraw from all of your current courses, it could very well affect Satisfactory Academic Progress. You need to find out…because if SAP is not met, you will not be eligible for financial aid until you meet SAP requirements.

Please contact the dean of students ASAP, and your school financial aid office.
