I have a serious question? If I do not want to go directly into medical school after I graduate from undergraduate school, will it be good for me to go into the army( I would like to join the army to fight for the country)? Will I still be able to go to a prestigous medical school?

Yes, why wouldn't you.

in a more general sense, will med schools concerned about anyone doing something else (whatever that may be) after undergrad before applying to med school? Will they want to know if the student has forgotten bio/chem since graduation

Schools recommend you take refresher courses if you have been out of school for x amount of time. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with waiting a year or two if you have another interest you want to explore. In a way, it shows maturity.

Med schools recently are showing a trend of wanting students who are out of college for a few years. They want life experience more and more, and hence that avg. age for entering students is now about 24. That means on avg. 2 years removed from college.
