Essays/LORs/Other: All Essays good, LORS very strong - Guidance counselor referred to me as a “potential leader of my generation”

I am very interested in UPenn and Cornell CALS as they prioritize using your skills for social good and that has been what I’ve been doing throughout my entire high school years, so I feel it is the best fit for me. What are my chances at these schools, and T20’s in general? I really need some outside perspective on my resume; any insight is appreciated!!

I can’t chance you but your stats and rest of your app are certainly competitive. You say you don’t need financial aid, but are your parents going to pay $75K+ per year of college?

Did you apply somewhere ED or SCEA/REA? Are you considering applying EDII somewhere?

Obviously even with your stats, all T20s will be extremely competitive in the RD round. Please make sure to apply to a handful of match schools and at least one affordable safety.

Good luck.

Hi, thanks for the response! So I didn’t ED anywhere because I needed my first term grades from Senior year to bump my GPA up, and to also demonstrate that my Upward Trend was not a fluke. For Financial Aid, I am extremely lucky to have parents that will pay full tuition if I get into a very selective school - that being said, for state schools and matches I am definitely applying for financial aid. I am considering applying ED II to Johns Hopkins, but I feel like my perfect fit is at UPenn. Obviously, I know how hard it is to get in, but I am doing this chance me to figure out if I even have a realistic chance at Penn specifically.

If your parents can afford $75,000+ a year, I doubt they are poor enough for you to be eligible for FA.
