Ethnicity: (east) Indian</p>

<p>GPA: unweighted- 3.9, weighted: 4.4 or 4.5
Class rank: school doesn't officially have it, but I would be in top 5 out of around 450 in my class</p>

<p>Sophomore year: straight A's, one AP: AP Government- I got a 5.</p>

<p>Junior year: straight A's, three APs: AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP US History- also, I took English 101 and English 151 at a local college: A's in both and I took Physics 121 at Salisbury University: A</p>

<p>Senior year: AP Chem; AP Calc BC; Physics 221, Comparative Politics in the Middle East, Int'l Political Economy, and Microeconomics at Salisbury University.</p>

<p>SAT's (my downfall): CR: 690 MATH: 650 WRITING: 720
Subject tests: Bio- 730 Math II- 550 (very bad day) Spanish- 620</p>

<p>I'm definitely going to retake SAT Is, and subject tests for math and spanish</p>

<p>Please let me know my chances with this and if I get my SATs up to atleast 2150 and subject tests I think I can get all in the 700s atleast</p>

<p>-I spent my school year interning for a Congressman (Rep. Gilchrest- MD) in my district at his Congressional District Office
-I am spending this summer in Washington, DC, interning at the White House: Commission on Remembrance and at Capitol Hill at the legislative congressional office of my representative</p>

<p>My recommendations should be great- I'm going to get a great one from my congressman and from the executive director at my other my other internship- in addition to my teacher/counselor ones</p>

<p>My essays are also very strong</p>

<p>My number one top choice is Georgetown University School of Foreign Service- i will likely do SCEA (does that help?)</p>

<p>You look very competitive to me. a few things though:
a) you almost seem overstretched. That is a LOT of EC's work, and volunteer experience. It is hard to believe you have sufficient time to adequately pursue all of them. ( see <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/516490-too-many-extracurricular-activities.html%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/516490-too-many-extracurricular-activities.html&lt;/a> for more discussion) There is also the danger of looking like you're doing it just for college apps. Also, keep in mind the application process your senior year is fairly time-intensive itself.
b) your standardized test scores aren't bad, but they could be better. keep in mind gtown doesn't look at writing, so even though that was your best section, it's essential thrown out the window, so you're looking at a 1340. Judging by the college board numbers, you're easily in the bottom third of the accepted pool based on that parameter. your subject test scores are also very low. It seems you're already aware of this fact, but I just want to reiterate that if there's a weak spot in your application, this is definitely it.</p>

<p>I don't think Georgetown uses the common app. I just got a full application from Georgetown yesterday and im pretty sure its different.</p>

<p>this is a very small forum, and even in the busiest it is completely unnecessary to bump a thread one minute after the last post.</p>

<p>Georgetown's application is notoriously short on space. Just about everyone on CC recommends you attach a full resume with your application. (Although for the record I never did, and I imagine the practice is far more widespread among CC-type applicants than the pool at large.) If I remember correctly the app has five spaces for activities (update:looks like they've expanded it to a whopping six spaces!), two spaces for jobs, and a small area to list any "special talents or skills." There is then a field of checkboxes for each activity you've been engaged in over the years. <p>What would you recommend I put in the special talent/skills? I don't have laser vision or super speed. Should I put plays trumpet? Is public speaking a skill worthy of putting in that box?</p>

<p>I got a Georgetown app in the mail too. Color coded and everything. Very cool! I suppose I will submit online, but I will fill in the app they sent me to make sure I have thought out every part of the app before I submit.</p>

<p>fastfood, I left it blank and did fine. Others actually did write in things as nonsensical as laser vision and got in. The most frequent use I think is for foreign languages.</p>

<p>have fun with it. it is not going to make or break your application. I think I talked about being able to get along with lots of different types of people. If you can't think of anything just leave it blank.</p>

<p>You look strong. Consider Davidson or William & Mary as well. Similar schools to Georgetown but not as many applicants.</p>

<p>I do believe Georgetown is going to have the common application soon will they not? I do believe it is in the works?! I know UVA just started or is planning to start using the common application as well.</p>

<p>I don't think georgetown will use common app in at least couple of years. Mostly because its special college system, you have to decide which college to apply thus you are required to write different essay, which I don't think common app is able to fulfill. I think uncommon app is a great idea. It allows a self-select procedure.</p>
