[li] Can my counselor attach a .PDF file explaining why I should qualify for a fee waiver?[/ul][/li]I'm sorry for inundating you guys with my bazillion questions. I don't have anyone to help me out here.

Danny007:
I assume this is is a waiver for the application fee.
That raises the question: Have you worked through how you will be paying for the rest of your college costs? (tuition, room, board, travel to-n-from, etc)?

jpm50: Yeah, that’s for app fee waiver. I am only applying to the schools which guarantee to meet full-need. But that’s not the primary focus for me now.*** Can you please please check if my transcript is OK?? I will get it stamped tomorrow***

A letter from your guidance counselor about a fee waiver is probably perfect. The worst case, MIT will let you know that they need more information.

Please let the fee waiver matter rest now.

Can you please please check if my transcript is OK?? I have to get it stamped tomorrow because my school will be closed for winter break after tomorrow.

Danny,

I think you should spend some time thinking if MIT is right for you.

First, it’s not the fault of the people in this forum if you waited until the last minute to submit your transcript, so you shouldn’t be badgering people who are trying to help. Neither the procrastination nor the pestering is a trait common to the successful MIT student.

Second, nobody except MIT Admissions can tell you with absolute certainty that this is what MIT is looking for. At best, someone can say it looks a lot like what they want and it’s probably - but not certainly - the right thing. You’re talking to the wrong people here. This is also not a trait common to the successful MIT student.

Third, your thread here shows a lot of fretting about something you cannot change (test scores) and what looks like an appeal to the larger community for validation. This is also not a trait common to the successful MIT student. The successful MIT student learns what she can and cannot change, and tends to look inside rather than outside for validation.

MIT is a unique place, and it’s not for everybody. If I were you, I would think long and hard about whether it is for you or not. Based on your posting history, there is a very real possibility that you will be happier and more successful elsewhere.

As far as the question at hand, as I said, MIT Admissions are the only people who can answer with complete certainty. You need to talk to them.

I am sorry but will all due respect you shouldn’t make comments about things which you don’t know about. I did not procrastinate. I myself realized that I had to do a lot of work in too small of a time frame. I didn’t know till the beginning of September of my senior year that I’ll be applying to US colleges. I had to give my SAT 1 and SAT II in very limited amount of time. Add to this the fact that I do not have anyone to guide me here( Nope, not even my guidance counselor- In fact, I am the first one to apply to US schools from my area). So, I had no idea that things would go this way. I hope that you now realize that I didn’t procrastinate. And sorry for pestering because things are not in my control right now, so I have to hurry. A lot.
If seeking help is not a common trait, then yes, I should definitely consider if MIT is the right fit for me. All I asked was is this a correct transcript-simply because I don’t know if this contains all the required things or not.
FYI, MIT( and many more of other colleges) representatives post here. So, I can be helped here. Please don’t make unfounded claims. Please.
Please read the thread properly. I am not completely familiar with MIT admissions, so I posted whatever my query was in that post( i.e: if they compare intended major with the score in that subject)
I can’t help but agree with this. If MIT produces alumni like you’re, definitely I have to rethink about MIT But again, for one person like you, hundreds of other MITers have helped me a lot( the bloggers, Admission office {which is presently closed} and a lot of helpful people on CC as well {Mollie, Piper, Lydia, Mikalye- to name just a few).
Good day Mr. MIT Physics Alumnus.

…Why does your transcript have your Common Application ID on it? You didn’t make this yourself, did you? Submit the official form that your school makes. Your counselor should be taking care of this, not you.

Don’t worry. Have your transcript sent the way it is. Give the admissions office about 2 weeks to get all your things filed into your application folder. Then you can call or email and ask them if the transcript they received is what they wanted. Even if it’s after the deadline they will give you time to resend any material that is necessary. They will also let you know if anything from your file is missing and will give you time to send those in as well.

DANNY007:
Do you think your reply to MITPhysicsAlum validated and reinforced every point he made?

Danny: I realize that you are very stressed about this but you comments towards MITPhysicsAlum were rather rude. As jpm50 noted, your responses to MITPhysicsAlum reinforce his points about your lack of traits common to a typical MIT student. Nevertheless, I will see if I can help you. I have the same concern that DaveLee expressed. Did you make this transcript yourself? Because this is technically against MIT policies. You should let your guidance counselor make one him/herself. Do not be worried if there is not enough information on the transcript. MIT will contact your school or you if they need anything else. Your transcript has information below the “Note:” section that would usually go on a school profile by your guidance counselor. I also was wondering why there is no Junior year GPA.

If your counselor made this transcript, it is correct.

The one big thing I see though is that there is no name to your classes “math”. Well, what math?

Thanks to all for your replies. And my deep apologies for my rude/insensitive comments. You’re right. I should stress less right now because stress is overpowering my sanity. Please. Sorry.( especially MIT Physics alumni)

My counselor made this transcript NOT ME :p, and It is stamped and signed by my principal( who happens to be my counselor too). The sample I linked was just a sample of the “format”. Actually, my counselor is a completely new to this US process( so am I), so I just thought that I should confirm that my transcript is OK or not. I mean, I just didn’t want to create a bad impression on adcom of the first sight and they would go like: " His transcript is kinda bad" something like this.

IWillKillForMIT: Nope. there is no junior/senior year GPA. It’s According to the national system. GPA( on a scale of 10) is provided for 9th and 10th grade. And my counselor said it would be better if adcom could find all the info regarding grading on the transcript itself.(i.e the “NOTE” part)

crazymomster: thank god my transcript is OK. Actually, in my country courses are a lot different from US. We have just maths(ditto for every other subject) and it covers all the topics like calculus, 3D geometry, statistics and every other topic just under one subject-“math”. This system(CBSE board of education) is exactly same in all my country.
