I'd like to suggest posting the following info once you get your letter from Colgate:

Accepted, denied, deferred, etc.?

8) ive been captain of my ski team for two years, my supplement essay was unique I think etc.

Does the rejection letter always arrive later than the acceptance one? It took my materials four days to get to Colgate. Yet four days have passed since they sent the decision and I’m still waiting :(

Thanks for posting, everybody. So far it looks like you need SAT >2000 or ACT >29, GPA >3.7. No legacies so far, and only one person applied for financial aid? Hmmm… Of course, we need more data!

mysterious90: I got a thin envelope in the mail. I was shocked. I thought it was a rejection letter from Colgate. Turned out that it was a letter from another college, sent to confirm my contact details… (The most horrible part is that I saw the postdate: 5 DEC 2009. Today is the 16th)

@ Tagbanda: I know that feeling. I had a similar experience. On Dec 10 I was notified by the local post office that I had a package sent to me. I rushed there and saw that it was a thick and big package from Colgate I was speechless, “Could they have sent the notification earlier?”. Sadly, it was just a bunch of thick brochures inside. It really freaked me out. One more thing, I have discovered that a student from my country has got the acceptance letter from Colgate already… My chance is wearing really thin now… 95% rejection :(
