I forgot to add some academic details earlier......so here goes......
Class Rank : unreported
Decile : 1 - 10 %
96% in my class 10 board exams.
Currently studying at an institution named FIITJEE at a 50 % scholarship.
Given two all India Examinations FTRE and FTSE, both of which I got in the 99th percentile.

What sets you apart from other Indians?

I agree with tetrisfan. I'm Indian too. But I've lived in Australia for almost 9 years, played cricket for 8 seasons, rugby for 4, frisbee etc. for 2, and of course many other ECs that come with being part of my education system. Not to mention the accent. That makes me different.

So, I dont know, you stats are good, but right now, there's nothing that screams "I'm unique", apart from the teaching. Write ur essays about that.

'500 hours+ in teaching positions at 3 NGOs such as S.O.S. Children's Village';'been working with the Red Cross Society and a few more NGOs for past 2 years'----mate, you better have some solid proof for this. or else, you will be screwed.

Your only strong point is you SAT score. Unfortunately, Universities that you are applying to do not give a lot of credit for them The entire world knows that indians are great test takers and this does not always prove advantageous..

I am considering you to be 17-18 years old. You have mentioned that you have done Computer game designing. What exactly do you mean by this? What computer languages do you know. If you really have done some actual actual work it might count as experience and you will have to provide proof for it.

To tell you frankly, you have nothing exceptional. However, if and only if the game designing thing is true and you can produce proof for all the social service stuff, you may chance a chance at MIT. Princeton, yale, stanford are completely out of question. You have a slight chance regarding northwestern and trinity..

My advice: keep safeties...

I really appreciate the advice, thanks...........as for the stuff that I put up......I already got all my certificates ready.....all the directors of the respective NGOs have each given me a letter of recommendation along with a certificate of the exact dates and duration of my work there.............only problem is that the State Government is taking a lot of time to issue the certificate for the participation in the waste disposal thing, but I can get that certified from my school too as I was chosen by my school..........as for the games designing, I have certificates from quite a few science and computer exhibitions and quite a few CDs full of them...............and.....what do you think I wrote about in my essays if not about these.

You don't need to mail in all your certificates with the application!

I didn't mail anything.......I did everything online......even the teacher recs and school reports.....just keeping the certificates in case .....uh ...what was it......'solid proof' is required......by the way.....my universities don't need the TOEFL score......but I've already taken it......considering the cost of reporting it to 11 colleges....should I report it anyway.........I got 115 ( okay).

You don't need the TOEFL score unless the colleges require it, as you have an excellent SAT score. As for you chances, I think you should get into Lafayette, Gettysburg, Lehigh, and Trinity if your essays are fine. You have a very good shot at Tufts and Northwestern, assuming that your financial aid requirement is not too great. And Yale, Stanford, MIT, Princeton! Well, these four are reaches for almost everyone. Good luck!
