PLEASE READ - to all RD Brown applicants

Let me start by saying Brown is my dream school.

I am a sophomore in high school, and I’ve wanted to go to Brown ever since I started researching the Ivy League in 8th grade. I’ve been working extremely hard to reach my goal. But enough about me.

I feel like this should go without saying, but you guys are the cream of the crop. I’m assuming you’ve all worked hard during your high school careers (duh, it’s Brown for God’s sake), and I want you all to know that I, and thousands of other high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, really admire you all. I’m sure kids log onto college confidential just to see how they stack up against the CC community. They (I am one of those people) soon realize that being an Ivy Leaguer someday takes a lot more work than they originally thought. You guys have pushed me, albeit indirectly, to be a better student, and I genuinely thank you for that.

Whether you are accepted or denied in 6 hours doesn’t really make a difference to me (I shouldn’t be saying this, because I know it means the world to you). I see hundreds of committed students who have worked their asses of while they were in high school. In my opinion, most of you deserve to be admitted.

In conclusion, I wish everyone the best of luck. If you aren’t admitted to Brown, I’m sure you’ll be admitted to another great school. Meanwhile, take a break from the anxiety. Go for a walk, or go exercise, or go listen to music, or even get some breakfast with friends.

Well written. I’m a junior and what iggo said applies to me exactly. Congratulations to all of the Brown applicants no matter what your results are.

As a stressed out senior, I really appreciate this post. It’s a much-needed reality check and I hope that other applicants will read this before decisions come out.

Thank you.

Thank you very much. I agree with Opaline.

-A senior

Thanks OP!
You’re the man/woman!

What a sweet thing to write! My d was deferred ED, but we’re hoping for the best today.

The Brown forum is filled with smart, nice people, just like Brown.

Good luck to everyone!

Yeah, I’m definitely getting rejected.

This was sweet, though.

I read the line “I am a sophomore in high school,” and I kind of rolled my eyes, expecting some sort of chance thread. I was pleasantly surprised. The OP is wise, well written, and very mature. Bravo.

No problem, guys. Again, best of luck to everyone!

Thanks for the encouraging words. Best of luck in two year

Very well written, and thank you for the encouragement.
Same as all the other nervous seniors, this post not only reminds us about how we have worked our way through but it also ease my anxious feeling.
Best luck to you too! Also to all who are hearing multiple results sometimes in the next few hours.

Thank you @iggo15. I’m sure you’ll do great in your college applications and will get into a great university. Let’s hope us oldies get good news in 2 hours :D

Thanks!! The thought is much appreciated! :)
