please recommend schools for an underachiever

At the beginning of my high school career I was a huge slacker. Ive managed to turn myself around now, but my gpa is still low, a measly 2.8 unweighted. My combined sat scores are a 2010 which is fairly good though. When ive been looking at school, my gpa is always well below what the schools average is, but im hoping my sat score will make up for this. I also come from the number one public high school in my state, which will hopefully make my gpa look better. I would like some input on what schools you guys think i should apply to, and have a decent chance of getting into. Some schools ive looked at are umass amherst, quinnipiac, bryant and uconn. For extracurriculars, i have played varsity tennis every year, have 40 hours of community service, and am on mock trial. I would appreciate the input, and thanks for reading.

what state are you in? most state schools are more likely to accept their in-state students than out of state kids

im in Massachusetts. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Try bentley as a super reach.

Try the SUNYs or Purdue.
Boston University will be a low reach
