my parents dont have money to pay for college and i do not want to go instate because either the colleges are amazing and i have no chance or they are terrible schools, they are few private ones instate i do have intrest it. So how can i go to college without any money? give me ideas besides scholarships. I have heard about students loans but i want that to be plan C. thank you!

Realistically, you cannot go out of state for college with no money, especially if you are not a merit scholarship type of student. Your realistic options are to go to community college or local 4 year college while working and living at home, or wait till you are 23/24 so you can file FAFSA on your own and qualify for a good aid package somewhere else. Working for those 5-6 years would also help, if you can live at home and save up.

This all assumes your parents currently make enough that you won’t qualify for enough grant aid in your current situation.

The military is another option.

Use the net price calculators for all colleges you are interested in, assuming you have access to your parents’ financials and tax returns. Sometimes the results are surprising.

Loans won’t help you much, since subsidized ones are limited to around $6k/yr, and you would need a cosigner for any more than that. Plus, excessive loans (total more than $30k) would cripple most young adults financially.

my parents are divorced and if i was to go instate which their are all bad schools i could go free because of my parent low income, does parents income have any thing to do with out of state?

If you qualify for need based aid and have great credential, many private school offer good FA. Also, if you are a NMF, many schools offer free full rides.

Most publics do not give substantial grant aid to out of state students. They accept out of state students at higher tuition prices to bolster their budgets.

Private colleges that meet full need would be a good option. Just run the net price calculator before falling in love ;).
