Please Tell Us More About Miami Engineering

Are there any current students or recent graduates that can tell us more about facilities, professors, job prospects, and anything else worth sharing. And has anyone co-oped? How about undergraduate research? Would you go to Miami again for engineering?

Miami is currently my son’s number-one choice for college. He was accepted OOS into engineering/mechanical and got a nice scholarship. My concern is that most of the other universities that he has been accepted to have higher-rated engineering colleges. My impression is that most everyone in an accredited engineering program gets a quality education, but I do want my son to have good professors and have reasonable internship opportunities.

We will be attending Make-It-Miami day on March 13.

You probably won’t get all the answers you are looking for on this forum. I strongly suggest you reach out directly to the engineering dept and ask to be connected to some current engineering students. Even better, make arrangements to meet with professors, tour the facilities, and sit in on some classes while visiting on March 13. I’m confident the engineering department will be accommodating. I’d also make sure your assigned admissions counselor knows you are visiting on March 13th to help with any arrangements with the engineering dept if necessary.

@loveandhonor Thanks, this is not a real active board, but I would sure like to hear from some current or ex-students. And yes, we are working closely with our assigned admissions counselor, who is very helpful.
