ok so i'm losing my mind over whether i actually have good chances on getting into chapel hill and i've tried several chance calculators and have gotten everything from moderate chances to great chances.

Aniticapted Major-Business administration or Communications

Academics...
-Weighted GPA-4.17(end of Junior year, should be closer to 4.25 by end of first semester of senior year)

-Unweighted GPA-3.55(Should be closer to 3.6 by end of first semester of Senior year

Ranked-23 of 230-245

F.Y.I.
My schools GPA grading scale is different than most in NC, to get a 4.0 in a class you have to have a 96+ then for each point under a 96 it subtracts .125 to get your GPA in a class (i.e. 95=3.875, 94=3.75, 93=3.625 etc...) and we grade on a 7 point scale like most NC schools

You should definitely get your GPA up but other than that you like good for UNC.

You’ll most likely get in.

Hope this doesn’t sound mean, but you’re not seriously worried, are you? You have the Ethiopian/first generation card, and after seeing your sisters’ experiences, you should be feeling pretty good…

I stopped reading after African American. You’re in. You’d probably be in even if you were white.

Hahaha i really did get a good laugh on that one. Thanks you guys!!

Sorry dude, judging by your stats…
I am gonna say you have 120% chance of getting into UNC.

How about this???

Well… 95% of of admitted UNC students have a high school GPA of 3.75 or higher, so you are at a slight disadvantage. That means you should apply early to UNC, and retake your SAT scores. You have an OK chance of getting in.

should i be ticked off over being so close to top 10 percent? or are they leniant?

They will be lenient I would imagine. Your SAT scores are the larger red flag however. You REALLY need to get those up to around the 2000 range to offset your GPA

and also for anyone who knows what duke tip is, should i add that on? even they are rivals?

Yes, add TIP in. They told me at a presentation they did at my high school that they love TIP kids.

Oh i just realized somethings. I meant to put 1880 on the SAT and when i said first American Generation i was trying to say that i was the first natural born citizen of my family and will be the first one to go to a U.S. university but both of my parents have degrees from ethiopia, in fact my dad has an M.D. And i plan on applying on EA

And also i’d like to know if i have any chances for Duke and Wake as well.

You should get in based off of my stats when I got in. OOS and my SAT was around the same as yours and my GPA was around yours. You also have more ECs than I did. Good luck!
